Laura trained at HTS (Hertfordshire Theatre School) in Acting and Musical Theatre, and at the New York Film Academy in New York.
Since graduating she has appeared in several professional productions, including a performance in the West End of the Broadway musical “Elegies for Angels, Punks & Raging Queens”. At the Market Theatre, Hitchin, where the choir rehearses, she has appeared in “The Masquerade”, “The Agency Girls”, “Beauty & The Big Beastie”, “Summer Comedy Revue”, “Weekenders”, “Peter Panties” and “Road to Honeypot Cottage” (directed by Martha Ross, mother of Jonathon!). Laura has also been the resident pianist at the theatre since 2005. During the Summer of 2009, she took a show called, “So, How Was Your Day?” to the Edinburgh Festival. The show was written and directed by Laura, and starred Kelly Bibb!
As a singing teacher, Laura works regularly for Stagecoach Theatre Arts, and has also taught at the Bedfordshire Academy of Performing Arts, Polkadot Arts, Garrud 4 Theatre, Shooting Stars, and North Herts Performing Arts College. She also teaches private singing and piano lessons, and her students have a 100% exam success rate. Laura also fronts rock covers band “October Rose”, and is the MD of a cappella group “All In Gospel”.
Laura’s own singing teachers over the years have included Anne-Marie Lewis Thomas, Rob Emery and Rob Cousins, all west end musical directors. She has also had private tuition from Kate Hughes, whose client list includes Jude Law and Jeremy Irons, and whose late partner trained Michael Crawford; the original Phantom of the Opera.
Laura loves directing the nhagc, and says of the choir; “When I was a teenager there were youth orchestras all over North Herts, but very few youth choirs. I think it's important that young people who have a natural flair for music and singing are encouraged to learn how to really hone these skills so they become more confident and more accomplished. The choir’s gone from strength to strength since we began and I’m so proud of all the girls!”

Kelly also trained at HTS (Hertfordshire Theatre School) and graduated in July 2003.

Kelly is a versatile, dynamic and dedicated actress with a strong singing range and dance skills. She has experience in various aspects of performing; including weekly rep, open air theatre and panto. Although small in stature, she is a strong, natural performer with good stage presence, comic timing and bundles of energy.

Her theatre credits include; sketches for The Comedy Project @ the Soho Theatre, London; regular actress for upcoming comedy duo Doggett and Ephgrave (both theatre and screen), regular productions for the Market Theatre Company (favourite roles - Edith Summers in The Maid and Jenny Softy/Ronnie Rake in the live outdoor soap opera ‘Weekenders’) and three seasons of weekly rep for Charles Vance (favourite roles include Peggy Evans in Neil Simon's Come Blow Your Horn, Sybil Merton in Lord Arthur Savile's Crime, the title role in Jane Eyre and Sybil Chase Private Lives).

She has appeared in pantomime for the last four years as Jilly in Jack and the Beanstalk (Proper Pantomime Company), Wendy Darling in Peter Pan (Extravaganza Productions at The Palace Theatre, Newark and Middlesbrough Theatre and for CV Productions at The Lyceum Theatre, Crewe) and the Wicked Witch in Beauty and the Big Beastie for the Market Theatre Company, Hitchin.

Film credits include the title role in the short film Charlotte Love for Middlesex University, Emily Turner in Lady In Waiting for GOT Productions, an internet viral for Channel 4/Maverick Media in collaboration with Cancer Research and a featured artist in the Focus Feature film Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day.

As a teacher. Kelly has taught for various theatre schools - Dreams Theatre, Academy of Performing Arts, Top Hat, Stagecoach...the list goes on! She is very excited to be a part of NHAGC, having been a member of a choir when she was at school and also a member of Soul Connection a soul/gospel choir whilst at college. She was grateful for the opportunites she was given when she was younger and delights in being able to give that opportunity to the girls of NHAGC.
